Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Upper GI and General Surgery Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team at Wollongong Hospital. The successful candidate will work closely with three senior surgeons to provide high-quality tertiary-level services, including pancreatic, hepatic, and oesophagogastric resections for cancer.

Responsibilities
">
">
* Provide independent and effective medical care to surgical patients under the supervision of specialist staff;
">
* Undertake emergency surgery and inpatient and outpatient surgical consultations, including those in the Emergency Department;
">
* Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care;
">
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient care and treatment plans.
">

Requirements
">
">
* MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia;
">
* A minimum of five years post-graduate experience in General Surgery;
">
* Sufficient skills, knowledge, and experience to practice as a safe and competent provisional fellow;
">
* Strong teamwork and leadership skills;
">
* Excellent time management and organisational skills;
">
* Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills;
">
* Experience in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students;
">
* Moderate computer skills.
