Night Shift Maintenance Fitter

The Role

We are looking for a motivated and proactive Maintenance Fitter who can work autonomously with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance and be able to identify faults and perform breakdown repairs to minimise downtime. If you have a mechanical trade qualification, experience in a fast-paced food and beverage processing environment, and excellent problem-solving skills, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

4. Identify faults and perform breakdown repairs to minimise downtime and micro-stops
5. Inspect, test, and maintain machinery and equipment in process and packaging areas
6. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on general plant and building maintenance work
7. Install and commission new equipment
8. Undertake specific project work, such as building prototypes and refurbishing aging equipment
9. Conduct machine/product changeovers
10. Prioritise breakdown and PM activities within the weekly schedule
11. Perform tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor, Electrical Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, or their designates

We're looking for someone with

12. Mechanical trade qualification (minimum Certificate III or equivalent)
13. Experience in a fast-paced food and beverage processing environment (FMCG)
14. Understanding of computerised maintenance management systems
15. Site services experience (steam boilers, air compressors, wastewater treatment plants)
16. Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and spare parts manuals
17. Practical mechanical experience in the usage of hand and power tools
18. Welding experience (MAW and TIG welding highly desired)
19. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
20. Strong communication skills
21. Hands-on approach and ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
22. Eligibility to work in Australia

Desirable

23. Forklift license
24. Confined space entry license
25. Work at Heights training
26. Experience with automation or robotics
27. Computer skills (Microsoft suite, computerised maintenance management system)
