Position Summary As the Operations Supervisor, you will manage the operations of the terminal to safely achieve maximum productivity with due consideration to cost.
This is a shift work position (12-hour shifts).
The successful applicant must be capable of undertaking shift work according to a rotating roster.
Key Accountabilities Provide leadership, direction and coaching for all operational employees.Management of all operational employees on shift.Manage performance/disciplinary related issues.Ensure compliance with OHS&E statutory requirements and driving a safety culture.Nominated 'person in-charge' for purposes of Marine Orders.Assume the role of 'Chief Warden' in the event of an emergency.Ensure operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.Management of the operations to achieve maximum productivity.Demonstrate cost consciousness and consider cost as a factor in all decisions.Execute vessel operational plan to ensure terminal and vessel productivity targets are met.Oversee Quay Crane positioning for arrival and departure of vessels.Execute and monitor road/rail operational plan to ensure terminal and road/rail productivity targets are met.Liaise with key transport stakeholders.Maintain communication with customers and the industry through appropriate means such as 1-Stop system.Ensure all Australian Border Force (ABF) requirements are met.Qualifications, Skills and Experience Tertiary qualifications within business, engineering, logistics or other relevant fields or equivalent experience.Minimum 5 years previous experience in terminal/operations within transport, maritime or stevedoring industries.Strong leadership experience in managing large scale 24x7 operations.Experience working within the container or bulk ports sector or similar industry.Industrial relations management experience in unionised environments.
