Leading Hand Boilermaker - Overview
A leading hand boilermaker is a critical role in the industry, requiring strong leadership skills and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead a crew with guidance from managers and supervisors.
* Assist in planning workshop production to maximise productivity gains and improve efficiencies.
* Perform fabrication duties and welding techniques, including GMAW and FCAW, and pass AS weld tests where required.
* Accurately read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Provide training and mentoring to apprentices and production employees.
* Act as a key resource for problem solving, offering guidance and support.
* Sourcing and providing technical information and advice to staff and operations personnel.
* Ensure infrastructure is checked regularly and kept in good working order.
* Ensure all workshop activities are carried out in compliance with ISO standards, policies and procedures, and relevant safety regulations.
* Participate in internal and external audits where required.
Requirements:
The successful applicant will require a recognised trade qualification (Engineering Fabrication preferred) plus five years' fabrication trade experience within an industrial manufacturing environment. Key skills and qualifications include:
