Part-Time Technical Services Coordinators

We have got an exciting opportunity for two Technical Services Coordinators to be part of our team at the University of Canberra Sydney Hills in our Castle Hill Campus.

The Technical Services Coordinators support high-quality, safe, and student-centred learning in nursing by preparing, operating, and maintaining clinical simulation equipment and learning environments. They collaborate with academic and clinical staff to deliver authentic, person-centred scenarios that develop students' clinical skills, professional judgment, teamwork, and reflective practice. Simulation Delivery & Operations, Equipment, Systems & Inventory, Collaboration & Educational Support, Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement – Technical

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage clinical laboratory functions and provide support and guidance to team members
* Manage and oversee safe operations of dedicated laboratories
* Liaise closely with the Head of Technical Services Manager on Bruce Campus
* Lead team to plan, prepare and set-up laboratories for teaching
* Work with academic and professional support teams to develop and maintain technical documentation

As the successful candidate you will ideally have:

* A bachelor's degree related to Nursing or Allied Health
* Experience with high-fidelity manikins and task trainers (Laerdal, Gaumard, METI), peripheral devices (BP cuffs, ECG, IV infusion pumps).
* AV/IT proficiency: microphones, cameras, mixers, control panels; video capture, file storage, and playback
* Software: simulator control software, scenario libraries, basic LMS familiarity (Moodle/Canvas), scheduling tools.
* Maintenance: troubleshooting, calibration, minor repairs, liaising with vendors
* Understanding of simulation pedagogy (pre-brief, safe learning environment, psychological safety, debrief).
* Commitment to person-centred, culturally safe practice and inclusive learning design.
* Ability to translate learning outcomes into operational setups that support clinical reasoning, communication, and teamwork.
* First aid certification; manual handling training.
* Registered Nurse or Health Professional highly desirable.
