JOB SUMMARY:
The Associate Director, Medical Affairs ANZ is a strategic country level leadership role, with principal responsibility for

leading and building the Allergan Aesthetics (AA) ANZ medical affairs organisation and developing the scientific and

medical strategy that supports the continuing success of Allergan Aesthetics (AA) in the country.

In this capacity, the Associate Medical Director ANZ leads the country medical affairs and manages Medical Science

Liaisons (MSLs) and Medical Advisors. In addition, the Medical Review team report to the Associate Medical Director. This

key leadership role requires a thorough understanding of all aspects of medical affairs that are relevant for the country.

These may include late stage development activities, pre
- and post-launch medical and scientific activities, including the

development and execution of core scientific activities and programs to ensure launch excellence of new products in the

country.

JOBS SUPERVISED

Medical Science Liaisons and/or Medical Advisors (field based), and the Medical Review Specialist team.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Development and execution of country level MA plans: work strategically and operationally with entrepreneurial

and innovative spirit, to contribute valuable strategic input to Sub Regional MA plans and to country commercial

plans, ensuring that the Country MA plans are aligned with Global MA and country commercial plans.
- Strong connection with local Opinion Leaders and External Organisations: maintain skilled and credible

relationships with top tier country opinion leaders, academic centers and external organisations e.g. governmental

organisations, professional societies, etc. to ensure access to current medical and scientific information on the

products and areas of therapeutic interest of Allergan Aesthetics.
- Lead with Country Leadership Team: collaborate with other leaders within Country to operate a successful Allergan

Aesthetics organisation
- Build and maintain a strong local Medical Affairs team: recruit, retain and mentor high potential employees in the

medical affairs team, ensuring that a talent pool exists for a dynamic and changing organisation. Build a spirit of selflearning and development, demonstrating knowledge, ability to provide practical advice, resourcefulness and ability

to influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Medical Review of Promotional Material: Represent Medical review of AA promotional material to ensure scientific

accuracy and supporting references.

Quality
- Report any adverse event within 24 hours as per Allergan Aesthetics’ policies and procedures
- Support AA’s Quality Management System and internal auditing processes.

Workplace Health & Safety
- Proactively participate in AA’s WHS programs, adhere to policies and promote a safe work environment at all times.

General
- Adhere to AA’s internal codes of conduct and compliance processes.
- Other ad hoc duties such as administrative duties, as requested.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

Doctor of Medicine degree or other Life Sciences degree

Experience in the pharmaceutical industry within Medical Affairs (minimum 5 years)

Team management experience desirable

Relevant therapeutic area knowledge experience desirable

Essential Skills, Experience, and Competencies

Scientific Competencies

Demonstrated understanding of drug development and commercialisation processes, have sound and current

knowledge of the legal and regulatory requirements and a solid understanding of trial design and methodology

Recent experience in launching new innovative products and supporting access for patients

Strategic Leadership and Business Acumen

Demonstrated ability to participate within an executive team and contribute to the development and implementation

of winning strategies for the company overall with high integrity and strong work ethic

Presence and credibility to establish and maintain productive relationships with a variety of audiences with an interest

in the company including government regulators, the scientific community and other key stakeholders.
