Location: Cairns | Team: People and Culture Team

Are you detail-oriented and passionate about payroll systems? Do you enjoy working collaboratively while maintaining a high level of accuracy? Join our People & Culture team at Cairns Airport as a Payroll & Systems Administrator, supporting payroll services across Cairns and Mackay Airports.

This position offers flexible working arrangements, with the opportunity to work between 3 to 4 days per week (or 22.8 to 30.4 hours per week), making it ideal for someone seeking balance while contributing meaningfully to a dynamic team.

Role Highlights
This key role works closely with our external payroll provider, Employment Hero, to coordinate fortnightly payroll processing and ensure compliance with all relevant employment conditions. You'll also be the go-to expert for payroll-related queries and provide training and support to our team and line managers.

Key Responsibilities

* Coordinate and process accurate fortnightly payroll in collaboration with Employment Hero
* Ensure compliance with superannuation, tax, and Enterprise Agreements
* Act as HRIS (Employment Hero) System Administrator
* Provide expert advice on payroll and superannuation matters, including Enterprise Agreement interpretation
* Training and support to line managers and team members on payroll and system usage
* Maintain employee records and ensure data integrity
* Administer ATO Single Touch Payroll and Superannuation Reports
* Conduct regular audits, reporting, and end-of-financial-year processes
* Prepare communications and support documentation for payroll matters

About You

* Proven payroll experience with high attention to detail
* Experience interpreting Enterprise Agreements in a payroll context
* Strong communication skills and ability to support and train others
* Solid understanding of HR systems; Employment Hero experience desirable
* Strong organisational and time-management skills
* A collaborative, customer-focused approach

Eligibiility

* Unrestricted rights to work in Australia.
* Ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card.
