The roleThe position has responsibility for providing supervision in financial accounting and undertake financial transaction processing for the Department of Health ensuring compliance with relevant financial management legislative requirements. You will:
- Maintain allocated registers and quarterly returns
- Monitor the provision of financial accounting processing services
- Prepare End of Month reconciliations
- Efficiently process financial accounting transactions in the financial system S/4HANA
- Prioritise own tasks and ensure work is completed within designated timeframes
- Conduct quality reviews of the financial systems and provide feedback and reports
- Identify the varying data sources in which financial accounting transactional information can be sourced, perform the data analysis and prepare reports
- Assist with review and establishment of financial controls relevant to the General Ledger Team functions
**The successful personYou will have**:
- Demonstrated sound ability in the use of financial information systems, such S/4 HANA and other enterprise wide systems/databases such as DSS, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite
- Demonstrated ability to prepare financial accounting reports, research, review and analyse information
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a range of activities and projects with conflicting timeframes
- Demonstrated ability to actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices
