Legal Secretary – Barristers' Chambers
The Role
Alfred Lutwyche Chambers is seeking a capable legal secretary to join our close-knit team. This is a full-time, in-office position that offers both variety and autonomy, while providing the opportunity to support industry-leading senior and junior counsel. Prior legal experience and strong typing skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
As part of a supportive team, you will handle a wide range of secretarial, administrative and reception duties, including:
* Managing phone calls and client enquiries with professionalism
* Diary and schedule management
* Preparing, collating, formatting and proof reading documents
* Transcription and accurate typing
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* At least 3-4 years' legal secretarial experience
* Typing speed of 65–70 wpm, with high accuracy
* A professional and courteous telephone manner
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines under pressure
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Advanced proficiency in MS Word and Outlook, with the ability to quickly learn multiple new systems
* A commitment to confidentiality and discretion
* Initiative, reliability, and the ability to work independently
* A flexible and willing team player, with a positive attitude to take on both junior and senior tasks as required
Additional leave is provided during the mandatory Christmas shutdown and does not count toward your standard four weeks of annual leave
