This pivotal role will lead the Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) function across our Surface Mining operations throughout Australia. We're seeking a proactive and experienced leader who thrives in a dynamic environment, can manage competing priorities, and is passionate about driving continuous improvement and supporting operational teams.
About the Role
* Provide the Surface Mining operational teams with expert support, as well as mentoring and guiding them in HSEQ goals and objectives.
* Analyse data to deliver and implement improvement initiatives to enhance safety, health and wellness within the Surface Mining teams.
* Support the tendering process with HSEQ input and requirements.
* Manage and maintain the local Health and Safety Management System.
* Assist in Emergency Management support to operational teams.
* Lead HSEQ audits for compliance and manage local ISO certifications.
* Facilitate incident investigations and ensure timely reporting and corrective actions.
* Lead risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies including the management of the local critical risk management program.
* Liaise with clients to build collaborative working relationships and to foster confidence in Macmahons Integrated Management System.
* Maintain knowledge of WHS legislation across the areas in Australia that Surface Mining Operate
About you
* Degree in Health and Safety or a related discipline.
* Approximately 10 years of experience in Work Health and Safety (WHS).
* Demonstrated experience in leading teams and influencing stakeholders.
* Strong knowledge of HSEQ systems, audits, and compliance requirements.
* This role is based in Perth but requires regular travel to operational sites across Western Australia.
