Perth, WA | Full-Time | Environmental Consulting Leadership Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior or Principal Spatial Ecologist to lead high-quality ecological assessments that integrate advanced spatial analysis, remote sensing, and machine learning.

The Role
You will lead complex spatial ecology projects from scoping through to reporting, delivering scientifically robust outcomes for major environmental and multidisciplinary consulting projects.
The role combines:
* Advanced GIS and spatial modelling
* Remote sensing analysis (satellite, UAV, aerial imagery)
* Machine learning application in ecological assessments
* Field survey leadership (including UAV capture)
* Client relationship management
* Project and budget management
* Mentoring and developing junior spatial ecology staff
This position offers the opportunity to influence technical direction, contribute to business growth, and play a key role in expanding spatial ecology capability.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* 5+ years' experience in spatial ecology or environmental consulting
* Advanced GIS capability (ArcGIS and/or QGIS)
* Strong remote sensing and raster/vector spatial analysis expertise
* Experience applying machine learning to environmental datasets
* Proven project delivery and client-facing experience
* Strong scientific reporting capability
Desirable:
* UAV data acquisition experience
* Proposal/tender writing experience
* Budget management
* Team leadership and mentoring
