The Child Development Service provides transdisciplinary paediatric allied health assessment services to children aged 0 – 16 years with developmental differences and complex developmental delays.
The Allied Health Clinical Intake Officer (AHCIO) role will work collaboratively with the CHHHS Community Child Youth and Families team to provide a single-entry intake model of care.
Cairns Hospital is the largest major hospital in Far North Queensland, caring for patients from the Mossman/Port Douglas to Tully in the south and out to Croydon in the west.
About your opportunity:
In this position you will…..
* Demonstrates high-level knowledge of contemporary, evidence-based practice in the areas of child health, developmental disorders, and disability with a requirement to exercise a high level of complex problem solving and apply clinical expertise across the breadth of developmental domains.
* Ability to lead and participate in service quality improvement and research activities that support and promote evidence-based practice and critical thinking.
* Provide representation for CDS/Community Child Youth and Family Services on inter-agency committees and multidisciplinary working parties related to improving access, and service eligibility at an Hospital and Health Service (HHS) level as required.
