About the Role
The Senior Planner is responsible for leading and administering Council's development assessment functions under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 and associated legislation during a period of sustained growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Administer Council's obligations for development assessment under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 and related legislation.
* Undertake timely, accurate, and transparent assessment and enforcement of all types of Development Applications.
* Contribute to maintaining and enhancing an up-to-date Planning and Design Code through research, investigation, and preparation of urban planning policy.
* Collaborate across the organisation to foster a cohesive, customer-focused culture in development assessment.
* Ensure high standards of professionalism, probity, legislative compliance, customer service, and efficiency.
* Represent Council in complex matters, including proceedings in the Environment, Resources and Development Court.
* Support continuous improvement in planning systems, processes, and technology.
