The Role
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will:
* Maintain and upgrade a variety of steel and aluminium vessels in Huon’s Fleet from ocean going ships to small Dinghies.
* Undertake vessel construction and modifications, including a variety of projects on land and water.
This opportunity is a full-time position operating on a 4 days on 3 days off roster. Above award wages and overtime rates apply - the position attracts an hourly rate of $42.92
About you
* You have trade qualifications and experience in relevant discipline and are competent in MIG and TIG welding.
* Experience in aluminium welding is essential
* You are confident in your ability to fabricate and assemble as per engineers and shop drawings.
* You have excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate in small or large teams on projects.
* Problem solving skills and contribution to design and engineering projects.
* You are enthusiastic and self-motivated with a positive attitude.
* You have a keen eye for detail and a proactive focus on continually looking to improve processes.
