**About the Team**

The Urban Projects Portfolio is made up of Economic Development, Policy and City Strategic Planning and Placemaking. The portfolio provides leadership and strategic direction to internal and external stakeholders to identify synergies and opportunities for shared action in contributing to Council's vision as a leading liveable city. The Placemaking function focuses on the delivery, creation and activation of spaces and places that cultivate arts and cultural outcomes, exceptional placemaking experiences and authentic community engagement opportunities.

**About the Job**

An exciting opportunity has emerged within our Urban Projects portfolio for a passionate and progressive Leader to provide strategic and operational direction, to deliver a range of agreed strategies and actions which support key areas of our city through creative urban design, concept planning, stakeholder engagement and project management. You will work closely with large-scale capital works projects which include open space, social infrastructure, streetscape upgrades and precinct renewal.

The role will oversee programs and provide support to the development of the Woodville Town Hall as a cultural Hub and Council's strategic community engagement initiatives.

This position equally plays an important role in providing expertise and strong leadership to support and grow a small team of professionals whilst building a constructive workplace culture which promotes learning, teamwork and the delivery of a positive customer experience. As a valued member of the portfolio, your passion, care and collaborative leadership style will contribute to the delivery of co-designing public places with communities and supporting arts and cultural communities.

**About You**:
Fundamental to the role is an attitude to make things happen, a drive and energy to create great public places and connect with communities and stakeholders to transform spaces into places people love within the City of Charles Sturt.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline(s) and/or commensurate demonstrated experience.
- A proven ability to contribute to the strategic direction of the Placemaking function.
- Excellent communication skills, stakeholder management experience, research and project management expertise.
- A values-based leadership approach, with a strong focus on building a culture of achievement and collaboration within their team.
- Excellent interpersonal and rapport building skills, with the ability to constructively influence outcomes.
- Energy and initiative, matched by high level prompt and timely communication to support the delivery of excellent people outcomes and a great customer experience.
- Ability to respond to a changing environment and lead others through change.
- Well-developed time management and decision-making skills with an ability to persevere and creatively problem solve.
- Outstanding collaborative leadership capabilities, including high level ability to lead, motivate and mentor teams.

This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, with a salary range of $120,658 - $128,638 per annum + Super + Annual Leave Loading, option to salary sacrifice a vehicle and flexible work arrangements.

A current unprohibited Employment Screening Check must be maintained for the duration of the employment period in this prescribed position.
