We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Motel Manager to take the lead at the Cosmopolitan Motel & Serviced Apartments in Rockhampton. This is a full-time, on-site leadership role where you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the property, deliver exceptional service to guests, manage a dedicated team, and drive the overall success of the business.
You'll be responsible for creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment, ensuring smooth operations across all departments, and optimising guest satisfaction and financial performance.
Guest Experience & Service
Be the main point of contact for guests, ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience
Handle complaints, special requests, and feedback promptly and professionally
Implement guest-focused programs and maintain high service standards
Property Standards & Maintenance
Oversee property upkeep, including guest rooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces
Conduct inspections, coordinate repairs, and ensure all health and safety standards are met
Work closely with external contractors as needed
Team Leadership
Recruit, train, and supervise a small operational team
Set clear expectations, support performance, and create a positive workplace culture
Conduct regular reviews and foster development opportunities for staff
Financial & Operational Performance
Support revenue strategies and promotional activity to drive bookings
Manage budgets, costs, and supplier relationships
Ensure accurate reporting, billing, and compliance with company policies
Marketing & Sales Support
Promote the motel through online listings, social media, and local partnerships
Keep all digital channels up to date and visually aligned with brand standards
Identify and support local sales initiatives and packages
Compliance & Safety
Maintain high standards of safety and security for guests and staff
Stay up to date with local regulations and ensure full compliance
Conduct training and maintain documentation for safety protocols
About You
Relevant Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, Diploma or equivalent industry experience of at least three years.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Confident managing operations independently
Proficient with hotel/property management systems
Knowledge of local health and safety regulations
