About the role
As a member of the Curriculum and Learning executive team, the Director, Curriculum leads and provides oversight of all curriculum development and curriculum aligned reform programs across the division. This role works in close partnership with the Director, Learning and Teaching to drive the core work of the division, ensuring the design of our curriculum and curriculum aligned reform programs are of the highest quality and achieve meaningful outcomes for children and young people.
The role has significant responsibility for literacy and numeracy across the department, ensuring these foundational areas receive appropriate strategic focus and resources. The Director, Curriculum leads the development and implementation of the South Australian Curriculum, working to ensure its effective translation into practice across our programs and initiatives.
About you
* Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, implementation, and leadership with strong understanding of site‑level curriculum management.
* Proven ability to identify and address complex education sector challenges through collaborative, evidence‑based analysis while ensuring alignment with the Strategy and professional standards.
* Strong capability in building strategic partnerships internally and externally, fostering shared purpose and a collaborative, supportive divisional culture.
* Committed to creating safe, inclusive work environments with knowledge of Equal Opportunity and Work Health and Safety legislation.
Essential qualifications and competencies
* An appropriate tertiary qualification including post‑graduate qualifications in an appropriate discipline. Desirable or relevant experience.
* Experience leading in a large and complex organisation at an executive level, ensuring the translation of priorities into executed deliverables.

Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN–EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect -Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
