The Opportunity

The Senior Lecturer (Practice) will serve as Academic Lead for the year 4C clinical program, coordinating teaching across general practice, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics and psychiatry. The role contributes to tutorials, practical classes and small group learning at Monash Rural Health Mildura while ensuring curriculum and assessment align with contemporary clinical practice. Engagement in teaching scholarship and professional activities strengthens the link between academic learning and rural clinical practice.

Working with the wider Monash MD program, the Senior Lecturer (Practice) links the School of Rural Health with hospital and community clinical environments. The role supports students' academic, personal and professional development through teaching, assessment coordination and pastoral care while contributing to research strategy, curriculum development and collaborative initiatives. Strong partnerships with colleagues, external agencies and industry foster a connected and dynamic learning environment that enhances the program's profile.

We are seeking a candidate with advanced qualifications in clinical medicine or public health recognised in Australia and current AHPRA medical registration, supported by substantial professional experience. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to high-quality teaching and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships across academic and clinical settings. Experience in curriculum development, assessments, research engagement and collaborative leadership is expected along with enthusiasm for fostering an inclusive and supportive educational culture.

If you are motivated to shape clinical education and inspire the next generation of doctors, we encourage you to apply.
