The Role:

This Support Officer role will report to Ward 5B, but the role will be shared across surgical wards 5A/5B & SSSU, with the primary purpose to:

1. Assist in maintaining a secure working environment by supporting nursing staff in managing patients with behaviours of concern, delirium, high falls risk, self-harm, or cognitive decline.
2. Respond to aggressive incidents under the direction of the clinical team.
3. Provide manual handling assistance with patient care requirements, when directed.
4. Assist the NUM and Nursing team management in maintaining and managing surgical ward equipment.

Details of appointment:

This is a permanent full-time shift worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing 1 June 2025.

*Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for twelve months from the publication date, this selection process may be used to fill similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.


Salary:

$62,486 to $65,119 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer contribution of 11.5% superannuation is additional.

* Salary range in accordance with the Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

You’ll have access to salary packaging benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
