Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub‑regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne, an ideal access point for the Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps.
CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond, with beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full‑time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services, and general medical and sub‑acute rehabilitation services.
In addition, CGH offers aged care and community services throughout the region, supported by a multidisciplinary allied health team that includes physiotherapy, dietetics, occupational therapy, speech pathology, social work, and public dental services.
CGH is a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health, providing placement and clinical experience for students.
About Department
The Dietetics department consists of a Department Manager (Grade 2), Grade 1 Dietitians and Allied Health Assistants. It serves the Wellington Shire (excluding Yarram and District) and supports Central Gippsland Health acute wards in Sale and sub‑acute wards in Maffra, as well as several residential aged care facilities in the region.
About the Role
As an Allied Health Assistant for the Dietetics Department you will support Dietitians in delivering nutrition therapy across inpatient, outpatient and community settings. Your responsibilities may include:
* Patient contact on the wards
* Scheduling and coordinating appointments
* Participating in group therapy sessions involving cooking components
* Assisting with project work related to dietetic services
About You
Qualified AHA Cert III or Cert IV (or working towards)
* Driver's license
* Ability to work with multiple people and manage task requests
* Strong time‑management skills
* Proficient computer skills – comfortable navigating Excel, Word and electronic medical records
* Excellent communication skills – essential for a job‑sharing role
