Business Development Manager, Global Surface Technologies (SA/VIC/TAS)
Our client is one of the world's leading manufacturers of decorative foils, brand protection, and advanced surface technologies. German‐owned, operating across 50‐plus sites globally with nearly 6,000 employees. In Australia, they are the market leader in their category.
This role owns the SA, VIC, and Tasmania territory. It is not a transactional position. The expectation is specification‐led, consultative selling upstream of procurement, working with designers, brand owners, and converters before buying decisions are made.
The mandate for the first 12 to 24 months
* Grow sales turnover and expand the customer base across three states
* Open new accounts in packaging, labelling, FMCG, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical
* Influence specification decisions at brand owner level, not just at the converter
* Build multi‐contact relationships at key accounts
* Develop case studies showing the commercial impact of foiling and embellishment solutions
* Promote the full portfolio including anti‐counterfeit and brand protection products
This suits someone who sells on technical credibility and relationship depth, not price and volume. You will need to understand converting machinery and applications well enough to support customers on‐site. German product managers are accessible for technical collaboration, so you are backed by genuine product depth without needing to manufacture answers.
The role is based in Adelaide with regular travel to Victoria and Tasmania and occasional international travel.
You will bring
* Five or more years in technical B2B sales or business development
* Background in packaging, labels, industrial materials, print, or technical consumables
* The ability to work a large geography without close supervision
* CRM discipline and a structured approach to pipeline and forecasting
* A track record of influencing specifications, not just responding to RFQs
The package is $150,000 to $160,000 base, company car, and performance bonus.
