Overview
In this permanent full-time role, based at Epworth Richmond, you will lead and role-model the delivery of emergency medicine services to over 30,000 presentations each year. You will be responsible for direct clinical services across thirty-one treatment spaces including two resuscitation bays and a fast-track cubicle area. Reporting to the Director of Medical Services and the Executive General Manager at Epworth Richmond, you will provide leadership, governance, and strategic vision to a strong and diverse team in the Emergency Department.
Responsibilities
* Overseeing a headcount of 80+ emergency physicians, career medical officers and registrars
* Work alongside the Nurse Unit Manager and the Critical Care Services Manager to ensure a strong, collegiate team-based approach in the Department
* Lead continuous improvement to deliver safe, high-quality, evidence-based clinical care and patient flow
* Monitor efficiency, costs, and team contributions to deliver a financially viable ED service
* Contribute to internal/external reviews of the Emergency Department
* Undertake duties within the ED and hospital with representation on required committees
For you to be successful
You are an experienced FACEM who may be looking for an opportunity to lead a busy private inner-city ED. A natural communicator, you take a respectful consultative approach that promotes teamwork and patient safety. You are passionate about patient-centred care and developing your team.
* Current, unencumbered Specialist AHPRA registration
* Fellowship with the Australian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM)
* Significant experience in emergency medicine; private sector experience advantageous
* Demonstrated experience/knowledge of clinical governance
* Leadership experience is desirable but not essential
* Working rights to work in Australia
