Role Type: 12-month part time contract (30.4 hours per week, negotiable)
Salary: $86,165 - $99,946 per annum (pro rata) plus superannuation

We are seeking a Part Time Communications Project Officer to play a key role in delivering communications for an exciting national initiative: the LifeCourse Cohort Explorer.

The opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to lead communications for a groundbreaking platform that is transforming how researchers discover and use longitudinal health data.

The LifeCourse Cohort Explorer is delivered by MCRI, in partnership with the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC). It will connect researchers with valuable cohort data, making it easier to unlock insights into how health unfolds across a lifetime. Your role will be to build awareness of, trust in, and active engagement with this initiative across the research community particularly with cohort custodians and data users.

You'll develop and deliver strategic communications that translate complex ideas into clear, compelling content, helping drive national collaboration and research impact.

What you'll do
* Develop a thorough understanding of the LifeCourse Cohort Explorer's background, purpose, and strategic objectives, including a strong understanding of the concerns of cohort custodians (managers of cohort studies) and the needs of data users (researchers who will use the platform to develop new research ideas)
* Develop and execute a communication and engagement plan, ensuring adherence to agreed timelines, objectives, and messaging
* End-to-end development of high‐quality communication materials, including gathering necessary inputs, drafting and designing content, and managing and responding to feedback. This includes website copy, newsletters, social media content, and tailored materials for cohort custodians and data users.
* Maintain consistent branding and visual identity across all communication channels and products
* Create communication products that build awareness, visibility, and sector buy‐in for the LifeCourse Cohort Explorer within the cohort researcher community
What you'll bring

You're a skilled communicator who thrives on turning complex information into engaging, audience‐focused content. You're organised, collaborative, and confident working across multiple stakeholders, organisations and priorities.

* Qualification in Communications, Marketing, PR or similar
* Experience in a communications or marketing role
* Excellent writing and content development skills
* Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
* Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
* Experience with social media (e.g. LinkedIn)
