The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to step into a 12-month maternity leave cover role within our busy shared services team. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys accuracy, deadlines, and being the calm one when payroll day rolls around.
You'll work within the Payroll and Finance teams to ensure our weekly contractor payroll is processed accurately and on time, while also providing support across accounting and reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities
* End-to-end weekly payroll processing for temporary staff
* Accurate maintenance of payroll data, including:
* New starter setup
* Award interpretation and job/award linking
* Timesheet and pay calculations
* Processing payroll, invoicing, payslips, and client invoices within strict deadlines
* Managing contractor payroll, superannuation, group tax, and reconciliations
* Supporting STP and annual reporting requirements
* Preparing journals and supporting AP/AR activities
* Providing payroll support and guidance to consultants
About YouYou'll bring a strong payroll foundation and a practical, detail-focused approach. You will have:
* Proven experience in temporary or contractor payroll working across a variety of modern awards
* Solid understanding of Modern Awards, FairWork legislation and payroll compliance
* High attention to detail with the ability to meet strict deadlines
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style
* Previous experience with Astute is highly desirable
* A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
