Ipswich Special School is seeking a Part Time (0.4FTE) Coach with skills in the development and implementation of the Science of Reading within a special School setting.
At Ipswich Special School we provide educational programs for students with a broad range of abilities, learning characteristics and needs aged between three and eighteen.
Your role
* Modelling reading lessons across the school, coaching our staff in the implementation of the Science of Reading
* Development of key artefacts used as a Handbook of Reading teaching practices at school
* Play a support role in delivering the vision of the department to coordinate required programs in schools to improve the educational outcomes of students
* Work collaboratively with teachers and provide experience to Heads of Program positions by identifying resources and strategies to deliver outcomes
Requirements
* Must have significant skills and experience in the Science of Reading, working with small groups, teachers, teacher aides as well as liaising with the leadership team to drive forward the whole school priority
* Must have a solid understanding of teaching students with severe disabilities across a wide spectrum of needs
* Experience in special school advantageous but not necessary
