**Job Title:** Biology Teacher
As a biology teacher, you will be responsible for developing and implementing curricula to achieve specific student outcomes. You will engage in critical reflection and inquiry to improve your knowledge and skills, and effectively engage students to improve their learning.
The role of a biology teacher may include direct teaching, contributing to curriculum development, undertaking organisational duties and participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings and staff meetings.
You will play a significant role in assisting the school to improve student performance and educational outcomes determined by the school strategic plan and state-wide priorities.
A key component of this work will focus on increasing the knowledge base of staff within the school about student learning and high-quality instruction. This includes mentoring/coaching other teachers, providing expert advice on content and strategies, and supervising student teachers.
The primary focus of the biology teacher is on further developing skills and competencies to become an effective classroom practitioner. These teachers teach a range of students/classes and are accountable for the effective delivery of their programs.
