The role
The Manager Governance is a senior leadership role sitting at the centre of ARC's decision-making, strategy execution and organisational accountability. The role leads four core corporate functions:
Governance
Enterprise Risk & Business Improvement
Integrated Planning & Reporting (IP&R)
Records & Information Governance
This role directly influences the Executive, Councillors and senior leadership across Council. It is one of the highest-impact non-director positions in the organisation

The Manager Governance is central to this work:
Strengthening governance systems and decision-making
Lifting organisational maturity across compliance, risk and planning
Guiding elected members and executives through complex issues
Improving how Council plans, reports and remains strategically aligned
This is a role with mandate, visibility and real authority.
You will be successful in this role if you can
Interpret complex legislation, frameworks and political environments with confidence
Be a calm presence who stabilises situations, manages risk and supports strong decisions
Set clear expectations, improve systems and build a high-functioning governance team
Confidently engage with executives, councillors, managers and staff across the organisation
