The Role
We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Urgent Care Service. As a vital team member, you will provide high‐quality nursing support and ensure that all patients presenting to the Urgent Care Service are triaged promptly, identified as appropriate for the service, and given front‐line care in collaboration with the Urgent Care Medical Practitioner. Your Responsibilities
* Act as the first point of contact for patients in urgent care, taking charge of triaging each patient who walks through the door with accuracy, empathy, and confidence.
* Conduct thorough and precise nursing triage – quickly assess patient needs and prioritise care to ensure the best outcomes.
* Decide promptly in critical moments – identify and escalates emergencies or patient deterioration without hesitation to safeguard patient health.
* Apply clinical skills hands‐on – perform procedural care such as suturing and plastering.
* Work flexibly in a dynamic, ever‐changing setting – demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to the unique challenges of urgent care.
* Deliver compassionate, patient‐centred care – collaborate closely with patients, their families, carers, and medical practitioners to ensure a supportive care experience.
* Support patients in achieving their health goals – guide them toward the best clinical outcomes.
* Educate patients – provide essential health information that equips them to manage their wellbeing.
* Maintain meticulous documentation – complete all patient records accurately and promptly to support continuity of care and quality standards.
* Champion workplace health and safety – actively participate in safety initiatives and report any incidents or hazards to foster a secure environment.
About You
* Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
* Available evenings and weekends.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse and as a registered nurse in an Emergency Department, triage, ICU, CCU, rural or remote nursing.
* Previous experience in triage within an emergency department or remote nursing is preferred.
* Required to provide a Working with Children's check and a National Police check if not already obtained.
* Ability to assess and recognise health deterioration and escalates appropriately.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with excellent attention to detail.
* Capacity to work autonomously and delegate when appropriate.
* Passion for patient‐centred care and a personable approach.
