Child Matters | Teen Matters is looking for a dedicated and motivated Counsellor with a Social work qualification to join our thriving allied health practice.
We are a small multidisciplinary service that has operated for the past 15 years in Busselton. We focus on assessment and therapy for autistic children and teens as well as children and teens with developmental and mental health concerns. We also provide assessment and therapy for children and teens with anxiety, depression or other mental health problems.
Child Matters | Teen Matters is based in the beautiful beach-side town of Busselton, Western Australia and has a well established reputation for providing excellence in service from dedicated professionals. We provide services to families from the greater South West area and offer clinic, home and school based services. We have a flexible workplace with the ability to do some work from home. All our clinicians live locally.
Child Matters | Teen Matters works hard for our clients. We go above and beyond with our care and service in an effort to support families and help facilitate real and lasting change. We provide individualised therapy programmes for children and targeted family support. We also conduct autism diagnostic assessments and other psychometric and mental health assessments. The successful applicant will be trained and supported to deliver both assessment and therapy services.

Our premise is recently refurbished with beautifully designed and furnished consulting rooms, ample outdoor space, sensory gym, gardens and resident chickens and visiting dogs.
We offer a flexible work environment but ideally candidate will be available for full time work. We are experienced in guiding interns and new graduates to develop and thrive in a supportive environment.
A genuine interest in and experience with children is essential. Additional training can be provided. We have the ability to provide the supervision and training for accreditation as a mental health social worker.
Essential criteria
* 4 year social work degree and eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social workers (AASW)
* Experience / demonstrated interest working with autistic children / teens
* Awareness of evidence-based interventions
* Committed to ongoing professional development
* Ability to cover a broad range of presenting issues
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* High reliability and strong time management skills
* Autonomous with a strong work ethic
* Ability to work effectively as a part of a team
Before starting the role must have
* Professional Indemnity Insurance
* Roadworthy vehicle & drivers license
* Working with Children Clearance
