The Support Space is currently seeking a compassionate, experienced and confident Disability Support Worker to provide high quality care to our nonverbal participants.
This role is best suited to someone who understands the importance of patience, observation and alternative communication methods.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high quality, person centred support.
* Support with daily living tasks (personal care, meal preparation, activities, routines)
* Use and encourage AAC communication methods (communication devices, visual supports, gestures, behavioural cues)
* Build trust and consistency through routine and structure.
* Support emotional regulation and respond appropriately to behavioural cues.
* Implement behaviour‐support strategies as required
* Maintain accurate notes and follow support plans
About You:
* Compassionate, patient and observant.

* Respectful, reliable and consistent.
* Emotionally intelligent and responsive to nonverbal communication.
* Flexible to work flexible hours across a 24-hour period, including early mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Requirements:
* Current WA drivers license, a reliable car with registration and insurance
* National Police Clearance (obtained within last six months)
* NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
* Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
* Eligibility to work in Australia
