We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Workshop Leading Hand to join our team, based in Yeppoon, Queensland. As the Mechanical Workshop Leading Hand, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our workshop, ensuring the efficient and timely completion of all mechanical servicing and repairs.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

1. Supervise and coordinate the work of the mechanical workshop team, ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard and within agreed timeframes
2. Perform complex mechanical repairs and servicing on a variety of plant, equipment and vehicles
3. Provide guidance, training and mentorship to junior mechanics to develop their skills and knowledge
4. Liaise with customers to understand their requirements and provide updates on the status of their jobs
5. Maintain comprehensive records of all work undertaken and parts used
6. Contribute to the continuous improvement of workshop processes and procedures
7. Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations

What You Bring to the Role:

1. Formal trade qualification in Automotive Mechanics or a related discipline
2. 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Workshop Leading Hand or similar role
3. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team of mechanics
4. Strong technical skills and expertise in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of plant, equipment and vehicles
5. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to effectively communicate with clients
6. Proficient in the use of workshop tools, equipment and diagnostic software
7. Well-developed problem-solving and decision-making skills
8. Commitment to maintaining a safe and organised workshop environment
