About the Role:
The Assistant Manager Property Services is a
hands-on, physically active role
focused on the
practical maintenance and upkeep of our College grounds and facilities
. This position is directly involved in outdoor and indoor maintenance tasks, supervising staff and contractors performing manual work, and ensuring the safe operation of our grounds, sporting areas, and buildings.
Working closely with the Property Services Manager, you will be actively engaged in coordinating and assisting with day-to-day maintenance, refurbishment projects, compliance, and Work Health Safety initiatives. This role requires practical skills and a readiness to be hands-on in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform hands-on maintenance of College grounds, gardens, sports ovals, and courts to a high standard
Respond promptly to routine and urgent physical maintenance requests
Support and assist with building refurbishments and capital works, including physical site work
Implement preventative maintenance and ensure compliance with safety regulations
Coordinate and supervise physical maintenance tasks via the maintenance helpdesk system
Maintain a safe working environment through active OHS compliance
Build positive working relationships with maintenance staff and contractors on-site
Assist with physical set-up and breakdown of venues for College events
Administrative support using MS Office Suite including budgeting assistance, supplier coordination, email correspondence, helpdesk management, and staff training
Act as Property Services Manager when required, with a focus on operational and physical site management
About You:
Proven experience in
hands-on property or facility maintenance
, including outdoor and indoor manual work
Strong coordination and problem-solving skills with a practical approach
Solid understanding of OHS and compliance requirements in a physical work environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), and comfortable managing teams engaged in physical labor
This position is
1.0 FTE full time
and offers on
ongoing contract.
It is a
Monday-Friday
position working 48 weeks per year.
