Are you an experienced Clinical Midwife seeking an exciting opportunity to manage and coordinate evidence-based midwifery care within a dynamic healthcare environment? If so, join our dedicated team at Bunbury Hospital.
This is a Recruitment Pool for suitably qualified Clinical Midwives covering:
Permanent - Full Time, Permanent - Part Time, Fixed Term - Full Time, and Fixed Term - Part Time appointments, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
The following should be noted:
- The panel will monitor this recruitment pool for applications and assess on a regular basis.
- Interviews may not be conducted as part of the process; however applicants may be contacted to provide additional information.
- Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur.
- Appointments may be made from this pool until 27/02/2026.
Position Overview
In this pivotal role, you will utilise advanced midwifery skills and leadership capabilities to provide outstanding clinical supervision, ensuring the highest standards of woman-centred care across the continuum. Your responsibilities will include operational management of the unit, and providing advice and guidance on clinical standards in collaboration with senior staff.
Ideal Candidate
- Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and experience in evidence-based midwifery care.
- Ability to function effectively as both a team leader and team member in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Exceptional communication skills with negotiation and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Knowledge of quality and risk management principles as they apply to clinical practice.
- Familiarity with legislative obligations relevant to healthcare service delivery in Australia.
- Proficient in using computer systems for reporting and documentation purposes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced, evidence-based midwifery care in alignment with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia Decision-Making Framework.
- Lead and support a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional, consumer-focused maternity care.
- Maintain a safe environment by overseeing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care practices.
- Facilitate professional development and training opportunities for midwives and nursing staff to enhance competencies.
- Actively engage in quality improvement and research initiatives to elevate care standards within the unit.
