Position Overview


The Workshop Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the front counter sales and locksmith workshop, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality in all activities. This role involves managing workflow, coordinating staff, maintaining inventory, and supporting customer service by ensuring timely completion of locksmith projects.


Key Responsibilities

* Workshop Operations Management

* Organise and schedule daily tasks, projects, and repair jobs.

* Ensure all locksmith work is completed to company standards and deadlines.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised showroom and workshop environment.
* Staff Coordination

* Assign tasks to locksmith technicians and apprentices.

* Monitor performance and provide guidance to staff.
* Support training and development initiatives.
* Inventory & Equipment Control

* Track and manage stock of locks, keys, tools, and related materials.

* Order supplies and equipment as needed.
* Ensure all machinery and tools are properly maintained and serviced.
* Customer & Job Liaison

* Communicate with clients regarding workshop jobs, timelines, and updates.

* Collaborate with the Service manager to align workshop schedules with customer appointments.
* Resolve issues or delays promptly and professionally.
* Compliance & Safety

* Enforce workplace health and safety standards.

* Ensure compliance with locksmith industry regulations and company policies.
* Maintain accurate records of workshop activities and incidents.


Qualifications & Skills

* Proven experience in workshop coordination, preferably in locksmithing or a related trade.
* Demonstrated workshop coordination experience specifically within the locksmithing industry.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills.
* Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
* Knowledge of locksmith tools, techniques, and materials.
* Ability to manage inventory systems and workshop scheduling software.
* Commitment to safety and quality standards.
* Australian citizenship is required for this position.
