Are you an experienced Electrical Supervisor looking to step into a key leadership role within a major marine and aerospace operation? This position offers the chance to oversee skilled electrical teams, contribute to high-profile projects, and play a vital role in quality, safety and operational delivery.
Your New Role
As the Electrical Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating day-to-day activities of electrical trades and non-trade personnel across a busy operational environment. You will ensure all project electrical requirements are met safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
· Managing daily workflow and overseeing a team of 5–25 employees· Ensuring all work meets OH&S, environmental and quality requirements· Providing technical guidance and support to project and production managers· Preparing technical reports and contributing to planning, estimating and scheduling activities· Supervising small multi-skilled teams and mentoring apprentices· Supporting personnel management, training, development and performance conversations· Ensuring all qualifications, competencies and compliance records are maintained· Interpreting drawings and overseeing manufacture, assembly and installation activities· Managing raw material orders and job estimating as required· Working safely in confined spaces and at heights when needed
What You'll Need to Succeed
To be successful, you will bring:
· Advanced Electrical Engineering trade qualification· Experience in shipbuilding, marine repair, defence, or related heavy industry· Strong understanding of commercial quality, WHS requirements and industry standards· Experience supervising electrical trades teams· Ability to use workshop equipment and provide instruction to others· Knowledge of computer-based job and time-booking systems· Eligibility to obtain a Defence Security Clearance (and ITAR compliance)· Willingness to undertake interstate or overseas travel if required
Desirable qualifications include:
· Milspec plugging, cable termination or fibre optic experience· Basic rigging or forklift licence· Certificate IV in Frontline Supervision or equivalent
