The role
General Manager, Project Services CopperString
CopperString is a nationally significant transmission infrastructure project that will play a critical role in Queensland's energy transition, connecting renewable energy resources in North Queensland and supporting long‐term regional economic growth.
This is a rare opportunity to join a high‐profile, State‐backed infrastructure program at a formative stage and help shape the governance, controls and delivery framework for a project of significant scale and complexity.
The Role
Reporting to the CEO, the General Manager – Project Services will establish and lead the project services function across the project lifecycle.
The role is responsible for building the PMO, integrated project controls, governance and reporting capability, ensuring the organisation is equipped to progress through development and into delivery readiness.
Working closely with the executive team and key stakeholders, the role will support coordinated decision‐making, disciplined governance and effective execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish a fit‐for‐purpose PMO and integrated project controls function
- Lead enterprise reporting, governance and assurance frameworks
- Oversee risk, cost, schedule and performance integration
- Support procurement governance and delivery readiness
- Implement enabling systems and reporting capability across the project
About You
You are a senior infrastructure or energy professional with deep experience across project services, controls and governance in complex project environments.
You will bring:
- Experience establishing or leading project services or PMO capability on large‐scale projects
- Strong understanding of governance, controls, risk and delivery interfaces
- Ability to operate effectively in a greenfield or evolving environment
- Experience working within GOC or similarly complex public‐sector environments will be highly regarded
- Proven capability engaging with executive teams, Boards and external stakeholders
