About the Role
Randstad is seeking talented economists at both the APS6 and EL1 levels to join a federal government organization. You will be part of a team that addresses complex policy issues, improves the functioning of human services markets, and ensures the sustainability of a major government scheme. Key Responsibilities
- Apply statistical and economic modelling using large datasets to understand markets.
- Work collaboratively across teams and departments to build a shared understanding of priorities.
- Translate complex data into actionable insights and plain English advice for non-technical audiences.
- Engage in theoretical and practical policy considerations regarding human services markets.
Key Selection Criteria
For the APS6 Role:
- Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills to understand complex economic issues and work toward practical solutions.
- Structured Thinking: Proven experience with structured thinking about quantitative and qualitative problems and the development of analytical frameworks.
For the EL1 Role:
- Superior Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to apply superior analytical and problem-solving skills to understand complex economic issues and develop practical solutions.
- Structured Thinking: Proven experience with structured thinking about quantitative and qualitative problems and the development of analytical frameworks.
- Proficiency with a major statistical software package (e.g., R, Python, Stata, SAS).
Desirable Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in economics or econometrics for the APS6 role, or a postgraduate degree for the EL1 role.
- Proficiency with a major statistical software package (e.g., R, Python, Stata, SAS) desirable for APS6
