Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking an experienced Staff Specialist to join our team at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. We are looking for a Staff Specialist in Drug Health Services.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Drug Health Services, and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Drug Health Services Department and Hospital as required.
The Staff Specialist will specifically provide clinical toxicology and clinical pharmacology expertise to support the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Emergency Department and inpatient teams in caring for poisoning cases including overdoses, and to provide a consultation service across Sydney Local Health District.
The Staff Specialist will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encourage an academic environment that supports education, research and professional development.
Medical practitioner, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Applicants must have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or Fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM), or Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine (FCICM) and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award. Position will be available from July 2026. Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within two months of this date may be considered. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Staff Specialist (State) Award.
