Job Overview
We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Pre-Contracts Team as a Senior Estimator. Based on the Sunshine Coast, you will play a pivotal role in preparing accurate and competitive tenders for a diverse range of civil infrastructure and subdivision projects across Queensland and Northern NSW.
Main Responsibilities
* Lead the pricing and preparation of detailed tenders for projects ranging from $500k to $20M
* Review and interpret tender documentation, drawings, scope of works and contracts
* Identify project risks, opportunities and value-engineering alternatives
* Work closely with our delivery teams to ensure constructability and accurate methodologies
* Engage and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors
* Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement in our systems
About You
* You may come from an estimating background or be a Project Engineer or Project Manager looking to transition into pre-contracts work
* A proven ability to read plans and scope documentation and price from first principles
* Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels
* Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software
* A proactive mindset, with the ability to suggest alternative methods or cost saving opportunities
* Previous experience mentoring junior team members is a strong advantage
