We are seeking an accomplished Financial Accountant to play a pivotal role in our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting end-of-month (EOM) and end-of-year (EOY) financial reporting, statutory compliance, reconciliations, and taxation functions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage EOM and EOY journal entries and reporting timelines.
* Prepare complex journals, including provisions for returns, bad debts, intercompany, freight, and royalties.
* Generate trial balance, balance sheet, and P&L reports.
Reconciliations are also a key aspect of this role, involving monthly GL reconciliations for Australia and New Zealand, as well as reconciling payroll, including AL/LSL accruals and annual on-cost adjustments.
Tax Compliance is another critical area, requiring the preparation and lodgement of GST returns for Australia and New Zealand, as well as managing NZ WHT lodgements and assisting with FBT reporting.
The role involves delivering monthly reports to UK and local management, preparing ACNC annual accounts and UK KPI reports, and supporting variance analysis of sales, WIP, First Costs, COGS, and overheads.
Audit and Controls are also essential aspects of this position, requiring support for internal and external audit processes, as well as maintaining and improving internal control frameworks.
Additionally, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for approving new vendor accounts in SAP, resolving complex AP queries, and liaising with Group Treasury.
Maintenance of SAP GL accounts and cost element groups, design and update of P&L reports and trial balances, acting as 2IC to the Financial Controller, and assisting with cashflow, banking, treasury, and team training are also part of this role.
