Role Overview:
The Operating Theatre Assistant plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to patients undergoing surgery. This dynamic position involves setting up theatres for procedures, patient positioning and transfers, cleaning equipment, and general housekeeping duties.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Preparing operating rooms for surgeries with necessary equipment
* Ensuring accurate patient positioning and safe transfers during procedures
* Maintaining clean contaminated equipment and other used items as required
* Performing general housekeeping tasks such as cleaning beds, restocking linen, and waste management
Skills and Qualifications:
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team to support all work tasks
* Commitment to ongoing service excellence and quality improvement
* Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with minimal supervision
* Availability for 24/7 roster
* Current Certificate III in Health Care Support (Operating Theatre Practice) or equivalent qualification
* Minimum two years previous experience in an Operating Theatre Assistant role would be highly desirable
