The Clinical Superintendent in Surgery is a twelve-month appointment to a leadership role for a recent specialist medical graduate with an interest in medical management and medical education. The Clinical Superintendent will work closely with the Heads of Medical Departments, the Director Medical Services and their staff, The Director of Physician Training, senior medical staff, Doctors-in-Training and Hospital management, providing a key point of liaison for coordination and management of medical education, wellbeing, learning and day-to-day junior medical staff activities.The Clinical Superintendent in Surgery will also undertake clinical responsibilities (up to 0.5FTE) in Colorectal Surgery (subject to approval by the SLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee) and will participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the respective specialty Department and Hospital as requiredThe Successful applicant will be registered or eligible for specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award.Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Staff Specialist (State) Award.For enquiries about the position, please contact Dr Stewart Condon on (02) 9767 5000 or via email at stewart.condon@health.nsw.gov.auApplications are accepted via eCredential ONLY.
