Global Communication Services (GCS) are seeking an experienced Communications Technician to join our team in Kalgoorlie Western Australia.

The position:
This position is a residential based role in Kalgoorlie. The Successful candidate will need to reside in Kalgoorlie or be willing to relocate. Relocation package will be discussed during interview for those willing to relocate and not currently a Kalgoorlie local resident.
A Communications Technician will be part of a team that will perform Installs, routine and adhoc maintenance, repairs and diagnoses malfunctions of microwave, telemetry, multiplexing, satellite and other radio and electromagnetic wave communication systems.
With a deep understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) these works include but are not limited to UHF & VHF Leaky Feeder System installation and maintenance on both analogue and digital platforms in active mining environments, telemetry systems, PLC systems, two-way radio repeater infrastructure, optical fibre and copper networks including installation, termination and testing, Microwave Systems, and bench level electronic repairs.
To be suitable for this position you require the following:
* Current WA Manual Drivers Licence (essential).
* Australian Trade Certificate in Electrotechnology, Communications or equivalent (essential).
* Have extensive experience in underground mine two-way radio leaky feeder systems (essential).
* Have extensive experience in component level electronic repairs (highly desirable).
* Have experience in installing and maintaining microwave systems (highly desirable).
* Have a fundamental understanding in RF Theory and IP Network operations (essential).
* Have sound written and verbal communication skills.
* Be self-motivated and have excellent time management skills.
* Have the ability to learn new information quickly.
* Intermediate to advanced computer literacy.
