About the opportunity: An exciting opportunity exists for a Maintenance Officer/skilled handyperson to support service delivery outcomes, including maintenance of property, land-based assets, plant, and equipment.
Role responsibilities: Ensure care and accommodation services are provided in a safe, sustainable, and homelike environment through timely maintenance. Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and families, demonstrating empathy and understanding of residents' needs. Ensure maintenance work complies with corporate standards and WHS. Undertake building/property maintenance tasks as necessary, whether routine, planned, or reactive. Qualifications & Skills: Experience in a similar role is highly desirable. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of legislation related to buildings, workplace health, and safety. Trade background preferred but not essential. Ability to maintain buildings and equipment in compliance with legislation and standards. Understanding of contractor obligations. Good computer skills. Current NSW driver's license. Even Better: Experience in maintenance roles within aged care or retirement living settings. Knowledge of CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System); training available.
