Overview
Leading Hand Drainage at Gympie Regional Council. A wide-ranging and challenging role coordinating and supervising daily activities of work crews while performing construction and maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise daily activities of work crews and perform construction and maintenance tasks.
- Assist the Supervisor in achieving quality, safety and environmental outcomes for civil construction and maintenance activities.
- Plan own work and the work of assigned staff to achieve task completion using available plant, machinery and human resources.
- Lead daily crew work, establish teamwork, guide and assist trainees.
- Operate plant and equipment, interpret plans, instructions and specifications, and apply traffic control as required.
- Follow policies, procedures and programs to meet legislative requirements and safety.
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and Council responsibilities; maintain plant and equipment; perform general labouring and operate plant for which licensed.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Trade or equivalent level with remote supervision experience.
- Ability to operate and maintain plant and equipment per competencies.
- Physical labour capacity.
- Strong numeracy, written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety and ability to limit risks (BSBWHS401/RIIRIS301D).
- Current Queensland C Class driver's licence and Construction Industry White/Blue Card.
- Ability to interpret plans and specifications; problem-solving using trade experience.
Remuneration and Benefits
Annual salary commencing at 70,883 AUD, plus up to 13% superannuation. Benefits include a nine-day fortnight, health and well-being programs, Fitness Passport, long service leave after seven years, salary sacrificing options, and employee assistance program.
