**About The Role**
The role will be in the NSW Field Operations Team.
The role involves all aspects of radio telecommunications with a high level of technical competence covering radio systems, equipment and software with mínimal supervision and the ability to plan and carry out work unsupervised but in co-operation with other team members.
It includes the normal activities of a field support and delivery technician/engineer, including being on standby and perform some interstate duties. The scope of technologies includes Site Facilities (SF) management, Mobile Network (Land Mobile Radio (LMR) and Carrier grade Wi-Fi), and Fixed Networks (including microwave access). It is mainly field repairs but does include management of bench repairs for network equipment.
This role supports all field services activities for the region; this includes project delivery, network maintenance and break-fix.
We require minimum 5 years' experience within a telecommunications maintenance environment, including two-way radio and/or fixed wireless industries:
- Critical: Familiarity with industry-standard test equipment such as Anritsu, Aeroflex, Com-120
- Critical: Muxing equipment / PCM etc
- Critical: Antenna & combining o Highly Desirable: Radio Communications equipment component/bench level repairs.
- Highly Desirable: LTR and Simulcast networks and Microwave and Point-to-point wireless broadband
**Responsibilities**
- Assist in the execution of works enabling full delivery and ongoing management new and existing services, within agreed schedule periods and standards.
- Carry out Preventative Maintenance (PMI's) and audit against PMI schedule.
- To assist with management of LMR and FWN Network spares.
- Assist with all planned events on the network with documented Method of Procedures, risk assessments and customer notification.
- Provide day-day technical support to field staff doing projects (including service delivery partners and contractors).
- Participating as an active member of the team in faults and deliveries.
- Provides insight and ideas for field improvements to the Continuous Improvement Manager, to enable standardised national practices.
- Champion a culture of "delighting" customers, through personal contact and communication with customers.
- Ensure that records in the Network Operating Centre (NOC) are kept up to date.
- Co-ordinate activities and response times of the local Hot Swap / hardware and bench repair facilities (for network equipment), plus vendor repairs.
- Ensure we comply with WHS practices for the provision of a safe working environment.
- Proactively identify and ensure that the condition of sites are acceptable to a high standard.
- Follow company policies, processes, and participate in Vertel IP / LMR training.
- Provide operational / technical support (break / fix) to ensure strict customer SLA's are met.
**Required Skills**:
- 5 years' experience within a telecommunications maintenance workplace, including two way radio and/or fixed wireless industries.
