About the role
An exciting and dynamic position has become available for a full-time Officer – Media and Communications with multimedia skills in communications and editing. Working across our digital, media, and communication requirements, you will have extensive experience in media management, writing, designing, and managing the narrative around multimedia content, including print publications, infographics, website content, and videos. You will be a natural storyteller, able to create, edit, produce, and deliver content and associated graphics across all multimedia channels including social media, events, internal, web, and traditional print formats.
Job tasks and responsibilities
Execute media and communication plans in conjunction with Football Queensland’s overall strategic plan and objectives.
Manage media enquiries, prepare statements, and other communication to key stakeholder groups.
Plan, prepare, and schedule a wide range of eDM content to target audiences.
Develop and maintain Football Queensland’s digital platforms including websites, electronic newsletters, social media accounts, mobile applications, presentations, and other digitally produced material.
Develop and execute media plans and coordinate media launches.
Generate positive media publicity around key events and announcements.
Produce speaking notes for keynote speakers at major events and functions.
Write/edit material and other features for Football Queensland on a monthly basis.
Develop the editorial calendar and produce digital editorial content to support stated objectives.
Produce, edit, and schedule a wide range of multimedia content – infographics, corporate publications, website graphics, internal and external promotional collateral, and video graphics.
Provide journalistic coverage of FQ competitions including NPL and FQPL matches as required.
Assist with the media production and presentation of live events.
Edit digital images, design page layouts, and use electronic publishing software to produce digital content as required.
Monitor and drive key campaign metrics and continually measure success.
Skills and experience
The successful candidate will have:
A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
A degree in Journalism/Communications or the equivalent in training, education, and/or experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
Demonstrated organisational and administrative skills with the ability to plan, prioritise, and execute tasks to meet deadlines whilst balancing competing demands.
Experience in maintaining websites, social media, and other digital communication platforms.
Experience in social media and digital marketing and communication campaigns.
Ability to work with limited direction to initiate and implement ideas and concepts through to delivery.
Enthusiasm and a high level of self-motivation and initiative, both independently and as part of a team.
Consistently proactive and adept at working in fast-paced environments.
Desirable skills and experience
Skills and experience in Adobe Publishing.
Publishing across social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, etc.
Digital design skills including HTML, CSS, and eDM build capabilities.
Experience or knowledge of the football industry.
