The Older Persons Mental Health Service (OPMHS) is a small multidisciplinary team offering domiciallry psychiatric consultation liaison service, in conjunction with GPs, in a shared care model. We offer limited outreach to the near CHHHS district, from Tully, to Herberton and Mossman areas.
You will be responsible for delivering specialised clinical mental health practice through the provision of short term co-ordinated service, assessment and/or intervention to older persons who suffer from a mental health disorder, or a disorder related to aging complicated by a pre-existing mental disorder.
About your role:
* Deliver clinical services within a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive consultation and liaison mental health services to consumers of Mental Health and/or aged care services.
* Maintain and support reporting lines, with support from the senior clinician to the Director of Allied Health to ensure delivery of clinical services within a quality improvement framework, in a multidisciplinary team across a complex and varied work environment.
* Provide clinical education and/or practice supervision pertaining to routine tasks for students and less experienced staff with the support of senior clinical staff.
