CSR's AFS business is looking for a hands-on Production Supervisor to run our afternoon shift at Minto.
This is a working supervisor role — you'll be on the floor, setting and running the extruder, supporting your team, and making sure the line runs safely, smoothly, and to standard.
You'll oversee production of our Rediwall systems — innovative permanent formwork solutions — in a live manufacturing environment where quality and uptime matter.
About the role
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you'll take full accountability for the afternoon shift (approx. 10 staff, mix of permanent and casual).
You'll be the technical lead on shift — setting up the extruder, running the line, troubleshooting issues, and supporting your operators to deliver consistent, high-quality output.
This role suits someone who still enjoys being hands-on.
Shift: Afternoon (2pm–10pm), Monday to Friday Employment: Permanent, full-time
What you'll do:
* Set up and run the extruder — including line start-ups and shutdowns
* Carry out changeovers and reset the line to ensure quality output post-change
* Actively run the extruder during production to maintain quality and throughput
* Troubleshoot processing, mechanical, and quality issues as they arise
* Monitor equipment performance and escalate maintenance issues early
* Support and coach operators on the floor — this is a team-first role
* Allocate labour, manage breaks, and keep the shift running smoothly
* Ensure WHS systems, SOPs, and quality standards are followed at all time
* Communicate clearly with maintenance, quality, and incoming shifts
What you'll bring:
* Hands-on manufacturing background with experience operating production machinery; plastics extrusion experience highly regarded
* Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
* Proven leadership of frontline teams or experience as a 2IC ready to step up
* Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
* Solid computer skills (Microsoft Office) and strong communication
