From the mountains of the Great Dividing Range to the floodplains of the Murray, Ovens and Goulburn Rivers across the Hume Region, this position is the perfect opportunity for the best candidate to influence and deliver on the Conservation Regulator's key regulatory priorities to protect Victoria's natural assets. The best candidate will have an eagerness and willingness to develop their skills and experience in working as part of an operational team, focused on achieving positive, environmental compliance outcomes across the Hume region. This position has a key role in assisting with complex investigations into breaches of environmental legislation, patrolling recreation sites within State Forest, educating the community and assisting with appropriate, graduated enforcement responses as part of a team, in relation to unlawful activities which result in significant environmental harm. Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
* Demonstrated analytical and investigative skills.
* Knowledge and understanding of conservation regulatory legislation, policy and the planning and delivery of compliance operations.
* Certificate IV in government investigations (or an equivalent qualification) and/or experience in the application of environmental regulation is highly desirable.
This is a fixed term position until 31 January 2029. The work location for this position is negotiable between Benalla and Wodonga with hybrid work arrangements available.
